06: Create and Review Your First Issues
Issues are the core coordination tool in ConVoid Manager. They appear both as rows in the issue table and as 3D markers in the model. Once you select an issue (via its marker or a table row), the Comments Panel becomes active, allowing you to comment, add snapshots, set approvals, edit metadata, and delete issues.
Create Single Issue
The Create Single Issue tool is located in the 3D viewer toolbox at the bottom center. Click the icon and select an element in the model to attach the issue to it.
Dynamic Titles
When creating issues, ConVoid Manager includes the element name in the issue title by default. You can also generate dynamic titles based on element properties.
To define title rules, open Settings via Project → Settings → BCF → Title. You can also access the title settings directly from the Create Issue window by clicking the Settings icon.
Use placeholders such as #[Name], #[Level], or #[Grid], which are replaced with actual values. Attributes containing brackets are also supported, for example #[Height [mm]]. ConVoid Manager provides suggestions for available parameters based on the loaded models.
Input: Issue: #[Name] - Level: #[Level] - Fire Rating: #[Fire Rating] - Structural: #[Structural Bearing]
Output: Issue: Rectangular Opening - Level: 2 - Fire Rating: 90 - Structural: Yes
Create Multiple Issues from Selection
To create multiple issues from a selection, first select the desired elements in the model, then click the Create Multiple Issues icon. This saves time when you need to create similar issues for multiple elements.
Edit Issue
The issue editor window appears after you create an issue. Issues are automatically assigned to you as the creator, and the Title field is pre-filled with the selected element name. You can configure attributes such as Status, Type, Priority, and Milestone as needed.
BCF Settings
Access BCF Settings through Project → Settings → BCF. If metadata such as Labels, Priority, Status, Milestones, or Type are missing from the loaded BCF file, you can add new entries here.
Marker Visibility
Hide/Show Markers
Click Hide Markers in the lower middle area of the 3D viewer to hide issue markers. Click Show Markers to display them again.
Overlay Markers
The Overlay Markers mode displays all issue markers in front of the geometry, ensuring they are always visible even when elements are in front of them.
To switch between Hide, Show, and Overlay modes, simply cycle through them by clicking the main button.
